Senior Criminal Defense Attorney

A law firm seeks a Senior Criminal Defense Attorney for an exciting opportunity in Modesto, CA. This is a promising position offering substantial growth potential for an experienced attorney with a passion for criminal defense law. The role will involve managing a caseload, engaging in client interactions, and collaborating with a dedicated team of legal professionals. The Senior Criminal Defense Attorney will report to the Managing Criminal Defense Attorney.

Duties:

• Advise clients on their legal rights and responsibilities, drafting necessary legal documents.
• Represent clients at pretrial hearings and provide strategic legal guidance post-hearing.
• Oversee court appearances, including trials, motions, and the management of case-related documents.
• Conduct legal research and analysis, applying knowledge of legal precedents to predict outcomes.
• Build a strong case strategy by gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.
• Prepare clients for depositions, ensuring clarity on case goals and providing advice on key legal matters.
• Actively contribute to case management, collaborating with associates and legal assistants.

Requirements:

• Proven experience handling criminal cases at the federal, state, and local levels.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
• Ability to manage a diverse caseload while meeting tight deadlines and maintaining quality service.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in the state of California.

Skills:

• Expertise in criminal defense law, including pretrial motions, trials, and post-trial litigation.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Ability to manage complex legal cases and maintain client relationships.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
