A law firm seeks an experienced Privacy & Cyber Litigation Associate to join its growing team in Princeton, NJ. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 5 years of litigation experience, specifically within privacy and cybersecurity law. This role offers the opportunity to manage complex cases, engage in in-depth legal research, and collaborate with a diverse team of professionals in a dynamic and supportive work environment.

Duties:

  • Manage and oversee day-to-day activities related to ongoing litigation matters.
  • Lead investigations to uncover key facts and gather evidence for case development.
  • Research and analyze legal issues, particularly in privacy and cyber law, and create tailored litigation strategies.
  • Draft critical legal documents, including motions, responses, and pleadings (motions to dismiss, summary judgment motions, etc.).
  • Conduct and defend depositions, ensuring clarity and strategic focus.
  • Negotiate settlements and engage with opposing counsel to resolve disputes.
  • Maintain client relationships, providing updates and strategic advice throughout the litigation process.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on larger, more complex cases, contributing expertise to various stages of litigation.

Requirements:

  • 2 to 5 years of significant experience in litigation, with a focus on privacy, cyber law, or related fields.
  • Ability to independently manage smaller cases and assist with larger, more intricate legal matters.
  • Experience with fact investigations, legal research, and case preparation.
  • Proficient in drafting and reviewing pleadings and other legal documents.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively negotiate and interact with clients and opposing counsel.
  • Must be licensed and in good standing in the state where the position is based.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the state bar where the position is located.

Skills:

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Skilled in managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • It is highly desirable to be familiar with privacy laws, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and other privacy-related regulations.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team.
