Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney

A leading litigation and negotiator-focused law firm in Garden City, New York, is seeking a talented Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney with 3-5 years of experience to join their insurance defense team. Specializing in medical malpractice defense, the firm offers a hybrid working environment, combining office and remote work. The ideal candidate will be motivated, organized, and able to work both independently and collaboratively. While litigation experience is preferred, the firm is open to training the right candidate.

Duties:

• Represent clients in insurance defense litigation, with a focus on medical malpractice.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and legal briefs with a high level of professionalism.
• Manage discovery, including taking and defending depositions.
• Conduct legal research and prepare for court appearances, mediations, and trials.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and provide legal counsel to clients.
• Work independently and as part of a team to ensure the timely progress of cases.
• Maintain organized case files and ensure compliance with court deadlines.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice law in the State of New York (required).
• Minimum of 2 years of litigation experience; experience in medical malpractice or personal injury/insurance defense is preferred.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active Bar membership in New York (required).

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal research and drafting high-quality legal documents.
• Strong organizational and case management abilities.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Salary: $100,000 - $175,000 annually, based on experience.
