Job Overview

A law firm is recruiting a Family Law Associate to join its Dispute Resolution team in Los Angeles. This position is ideal for candidates with 3-5 years of experience in family law, handling both contentious and non-contentious family matters. Duties

  • Manage contentious and non-contentious family matters for a diverse client base.

  • Handle divorce matters, including complex financial disputes, property division, and spousal support.

  • Prepare and review marital agreements (prenuptial, postnuptial, and cohabitation agreements).

  • Represent clients in child custody matters, including paternity and visitation arrangements.

  • Provide comprehensive advice on all areas of family law.

  • Contribute to the team's profile by engaging in business development activities, such as writing articles, attending events, and building networks with private wealth contacts and intermediaries.

  • Develop and maintain long-term client relationships.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience practicing in a family law group at a law firm.

  • California Bar membership in good standing.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a family law team.

  • Strong academic credentials.

  • Excellent drafting, writing, research, and communication skills.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple competing priorities.

  • In-depth analytical ability and intellectual curiosity.

  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality work.

  • Team-oriented with a collaborative approach.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the California Bar in good standing.
