A growing personal injury law firm in Ohio is seeking a dedicated Litigation Attorney with a passion for client advocacy. This role involves managing personal injury cases from intake through settlement or trial, with a focus on achieving favorable outcomes. The position requires in-office work, providing a dynamic environment for professional growth.

Duties

  • Conduct medical case reviews and assess case merits
  • Negotiate and settle cases in both pre-litigation and litigation stages
  • Review policies, claims, and records to develop case strategies
  • Prepare, draft, and argue legal documents such as memos, demands, and liability theories
  • Communicate with insurance companies and manage client medical treatments and billing
  • Provide regular case status updates to clients and ensure clear communication throughout the process
  • Conduct intake meetings and handle client relations to build trust and confidence
  • Attend Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs), Examinations Under Oath (EUOs), and recorded statements
  • Manage a docket of cases according to firm policies and ensure adherence to deadlines
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling all cases and client interactions

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in personal injury law; medical malpractice experience is a plus
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and writing skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases effectively
  • Proficient with computer and general office skills, with attention to detail

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in Ohio, in good standing

Skills

  • Proficient in case management and legal documentation within personal injury law
  • Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and client communication skills, with a client-focused approach
  • Ability to present case recommendations and negotiate settlements effectively
