Insurance Defense Associate Attorney

A law firm seeks an Insurance Defense Associate Attorney to join its established defense team in Tampa, FL. This full-time position is ideal for candidates with 2-3 years of civil litigation experience, particularly in construction and insurance defense. The associate will work remotely, managing all stages of litigation with minimal supervision while contributing to challenging and complex cases.

Duties

• Handle all aspects of litigation from initial case assessment through resolution.
• Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
• Represent clients in court and at depositions, effectively advocating on their behalf.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop strategies for complex legal issues.
• Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates and address concerns.
• Manage case files and ensure compliance with legal procedures and timelines.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• 2-3 years of experience in civil litigation, preferably in construction or insurance defense.
• Active membership in the Florida Bar is required.
• Experience with legal research tools, such as Westlaw.

Education

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited institution.

Certifications

• Valid Florida Bar license.
