A leading law firm in San Francisco is seeking a motivated Junior or Mid-Level Corporate Associate Attorney with 3-4 years of experience to join its top-tier Global Fintech and Payment Systems practice. This role presents a unique opportunity to support clients in developing innovative financial services and products, negotiating complex financial agreements, and navigating regulatory challenges within the financial services sector. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fintech and financial services law, with a strong focus on problem-solving, strategic thinking, and client advocacy.

Duties:

  • Assist clients in building and launching innovative financial products and services.
  • Negotiate and draft commercial financial services agreements.
  • Guide financial services licensing and regulatory compliance.
  • Work on enforcement-related matters in the financial services sector.
  • Collaborate with clients on consumer finance, payment systems, and consumer protection issues.
  • Stay informed on financial services regulations and emerging industry trends.

Requirements:

  • 3-4 years of relevant experience in financial services law, preferably within fintech or banking.
  • Experience with financial regulations and compliance, especially in areas like NMLS, consumer finance, payments, or consumer protection.
  • Proven ability to manage complex legal projects with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Strong judgment and problem-solving abilities.

Education:

  • JD from a recognized and accredited law school.
  • Strong academic credentials.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar (or eligibility for admission).

Skills:

  • Expertise in financial services regulations, including fintech or banking law.
  • Ability to think creatively and critically in advising clients.
  • Strong negotiation, drafting, and client relationship management skills.
  • Excellent communication, both verbal and written.
