Senior Construction Law Associate Attorney

Location: Boston, MA

Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm in Boston is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Law Associate Attorney to join its dynamic Construction Law Practice Group. The ideal candidate will possess substantial expertise in construction law and significant experience in large-case litigation and arbitration.

Duties:

  • Offer strategic legal counsel and representation to project owners, developers, contractors, and design professionals throughout all phases of construction projects.
  • Engage in contract formation, negotiations, project counseling, and the pre-suit investigation of potential claims.
  • Manage and defend claims, adjudicating disputes through mediation, DRBs, arbitration (domestic and international), and state/federal courts.
  • Handle complex projects including offshore wind, power/energy, infrastructure, and major commercial developments, while fostering independent client interactions.

Requirements:

  • Admitted to practice in Massachusetts; preference for additional licensure in Connecticut, New York, or Rhode Island.
  • 5 years of substantive construction law experience, as well as significant, large case litigation/arbitration experience.
  • Comprehensive experience in construction law, particularly with intricate and large-scale projects.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and communication capabilities.
  • Ability to operate independently and contribute immediate value to the team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active State Bar membership in Massachusetts and, preferably, additional states.

Skills:

  • Proven negotiation skills and the ability to navigate complex legal issues.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to foster client relationships and team collaboration.
