A law firm seeks a skilled and motivated Immigration Attorney to join its team in the Phoenix area. Duties:

  • Provide expert legal guidance on immigration matters, offering strategic solutions to clients
  • Represent individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals
  • Handle a variety of immigration cases, including family-based petitions, humanitarian cases, and citizenship applications
  • Conduct intake sessions with detained individuals at detention centers
  • Prepare and review immigration applications, ensuring completeness and accuracy
  • Develop legal strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS testimony
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutors, and community organizations on immigration issues
  • Meet with potential clients for initial consultations and assess the most appropriate legal approach for their cases
  • Provide thorough legal analysis and advice on the possible benefits or risks of immigration cases
  • Draft and submit legal briefs, motions, and other documentation for various immigration proceedings

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in immigration law
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with a proven ability to handle a caseload
  • Experience with family-based petitions, humanitarian applications, EOIR (Executive Office for Immigration Review) cases, detained individuals, citizenship, and other USCIS procedures
  • Experience with Case Management Software is preferred
  • A collaborative team player, able to work effectively with colleagues and clients
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred, but not required
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex legal concepts to clients

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active bar admission (candidates awaiting bar admission will be considered)

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of immigration law and procedures
  • Legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to develop legal strategies and execute them effectively
