A law firm seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Associate Attorney to join its Estate Planning & Elder Law team in the Hudson Valley. This entry-level position is ideal for recent law school graduates or attorneys with up to 3 years of experience. The role offers the opportunity to work closely with clients on a variety of estate planning, elder law, and Medicaid-related cases. It also involves drafting legal documents, managing client maintenance programs, and assisting with estate and trust administration. Duties

  • Draft estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
  • Assist in managing the firm’s client maintenance program.
  • Work on crisis Medicaid cases, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Support clients through estate and trust administration processes.
  • Communicate directly with clients to gather information and provide legal updates.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop strategies for complex legal issues.
  • Maintain accurate records and case documentation.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities, both in-house and through external organizations.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • 0-3 years of experience in estate planning, elder law, or related areas (preferred, but not required).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional client service.
  • Demonstrated interest in estate planning and elder law through coursework, clinical experience, or prior work experience (preferred).

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • New York State Bar License (or eligibility to sit for the New York Bar Exam).
