Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is looking for a dedicated Foreclosure/Bankruptcy Associate Attorney to join its team. This position is ideal for an attorney with a strong background in bankruptcy law, particularly in handling foreclosure-related cases. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and possess the ability to manage complex bankruptcy cases while representing secured creditors. The role will primarily involve Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy matters, with a focus on foreclosure-related issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft and review documents such as Payment Change Notices, Post-Petition Fee Notices, Transfers of Claim, and Proofs of Claim for Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy filings.
  • Review and analyze Chapter 13 Plans, preparing objections where necessary.
  • Prepare and file legal pleadings, including Motions for Relief from the Automatic Stay and Objections to Chapter 13 Plans.
  • Represent clients during bankruptcy court hearings, both in-person and via teleconference.
  • Manage a caseload independently, ensuring timely responses and meeting client expectations.
  • Address complex or escalated matters, particularly those that are time-sensitive, with precision and efficiency.
  • Participate in additional projects and duties as required by the firm.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Florida Bar and in good standing.
  • Membership in all Florida Federal Bankruptcy Districts.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in bankruptcy law, specifically related to foreclosure and mortgage servicing matters.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Florida Bar and membership in all Florida Federal Bankruptcy Districts.

Skills:

  • Strong legal writing and analytical skills with the ability to produce clear, concise legal documents.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills for presenting case facts and defending legal positions.
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload independently while maintaining high standards of client service.
  • Familiarity with bankruptcy and mortgage servicing processes, particularly in foreclosure-related matters.
  • Proficiency with LPS/Black Knight and Tempo software; familiarity with ATO and NetDocs is an advantage.
