The attorney will manage cases related to premises liability and motor vehicle accidents. This role requires occasional travel to suburban courtrooms within Cook County.

Duties:

  • Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • File documents electronically with the court.
  • Attend arbitration hearings and represent clients in jury trials.
  • Conduct depositions and coordinate discovery processes.
  • Review demand packages in collaboration with paralegals.
  • Manage a caseload of premises liability and motor vehicle cases.
  • Occasionally travel to suburban courtrooms in Cook, Lake, Kane, and DuPage counties.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in personal injury litigation, specifically in premises liability and motor vehicle cases.
  • Prior jury trial experience is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in handling client communications via phone and email.
  • Experience using case management software, preferably FileVine.
  • Access to a car for occasional travel to suburban court locations.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Illinois.

Skills:

  • Excellent legal writing and oral advocacy skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency with legal technology and case management software.
