Job Overview:

A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Attorney specializing in General Liability defense to join its Orlando office. Duties:

  • Represent clients in General Liability defense cases, including auto accidents, construction defects, workers' compensation, medical malpractice, premises liability, and professional liability matters.
  • Manage all phases of litigation, from initial investigation through trial and appeal.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies.
  • Represent clients in court, including attending hearings, depositions, and mediations.
  • Work closely with partners, associates, and support staff to ensure the highest quality representation.
  • Participate in mentoring and training programs provided by the firm to enhance litigation skills and career development.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7-12 years of experience in General Liability defense litigation.
  • Proven ability to independently manage a litigation caseload.
  • Strong analytical, legal research, and writing skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with time-billing software and strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and Westlaw.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to practice law in the state of Florida and good standing with the Florida Bar.
  • Admission to all Federal District Courts in Florida (or willingness to seek admission).

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and drafting abilities.
  • Ability to handle complex litigation independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent time-management skills to meet billable hour requirements and court deadlines.
