Job Overview: A law firm seeks a self-motivated and detail-oriented Bankruptcy Attorney to work remotely from California. This position involves managing a high-volume caseload, focusing on bankruptcy matters, and representing secured creditors. The ideal candidate will possess strong written, analytical, and oral advocacy skills and be comfortable handling cases efficiently in a remote work environment.

Duties:

  • Review and execute legal documents, including Payment Change Notices, Post-Petition Fee Notices, Transfers of Claim, and Proofs of Claim.
  • Conduct comprehensive Chapter 13 Plan reviews and draft objections.
  • Prepare motions such as Motions for Relief from the Automatic Stay and other pleadings in bankruptcy cases.
  • Attend court hearings, both telephonically and in person, as required.
  • Manage a large caseload while meeting goals and client expectations.
  • Handle escalated and time-sensitive matters in a timely manner.
  • Participate in special projects and additional tasks as needed.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Bankruptcy or mortgage servicing experience (preferred but not required).
  • Admission to practice law in California; multi-jurisdiction admission is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Experience with Chapter 11 and Adversary Proceedings is a bonus but not essential.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active California State Bar membership.

Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in legal research using both legal and non-legal sources.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a large caseload.
  • Proficient in software tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
