A law firm in Los Angeles is seeking a Midlevel Labor and Employment Associate Attorney with substantial experience in employment litigation, including defending wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and wage/hour class and representative actions. The ideal candidate will also have strong counseling skills, advising employers on various employment law issues.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in employment litigation matters, including but not limited to wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and wage/hour disputes.
  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and discovery materials.
  • Prepare for and attend hearings, depositions, and mediations.
  • Provide strategic guidance and counseling to employers on day-to-day employment matters, including wage and hour compliance, terminations, leaves of absence, and accommodations.
  • Draft and review employment-related documents such as hiring agreements, policies, handbooks, and termination documents.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to and in good standing with the California State Bar.
  • 3-5 years of solid experience in employment litigation at a reputable law firm.
  • Proven track record of handling complex employment law matters independently.
  • Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • Demonstrated commitment to client service and teamwork.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with administrative agency proceedings (EEOC, DFEH, etc.).
  • Familiarity with California and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Prior experience in counseling employers on compliance and risk management strategies.
