This is an excellent opportunity for a business-oriented attorney with expertise in key employment law areas, such as wage and hour laws, workplace safety, employee discrimination, and M&A-related employment issues. A self-sustaining portable client base generating at least $250,000 in annual revenue is required for consideration.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel to clients on a wide range of employment matters, including wage and hour laws, non-compete agreements, workplace safety regulations, and rest break laws.
  • Advise employers on disability leave policies, workplace harassment issues, employee discrimination, and wrongful discharge claims.
  • Draft, review, and update employment policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.
  • Analyze and address employment-related concerns in sophisticated mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions, both domestic and international.
  • Represent employer-side clients in all employment-related matters, with a focus on providing strategic legal guidance and risk management.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in employment law, with a focus on employer-side representation.
  • Strong background in managing complex employment law matters in a business-centric law firm.
  • Prior experience at an AmLaw 200 firm or a comparable firm is preferred.
  • A portable client base generating at least $250,000 annually, or a robust business development plan demonstrating significant growth potential.
  • Familiarity with employment law issues related to mergers and acquisitions (M&A) is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in one or more U.S. states (Minnesota preferred, but other states considered).

Skills:

  • Deep expertise in key employment law areas, such as wage and hour issues, non-compete agreements, workplace safety, and employee discrimination.
  • Proven experience in providing high-level legal counsel on employer-side matters.
  • Strong ability to draft and review comprehensive employment policies and handbooks.
  • Knowledge of employment law considerations in M&A transactions, both domestic and international.
  • Excellent client management and business development skills, with a proven track record of maintaining a portable client base.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and capable of managing a fully remote practice with minimal oversight.

What We Offer:

  • 100% remote work flexibility, offering you the freedom to work from anywhere.
  • No minimum billable hour quotas, allowing you to focus on quality client service without the pressure of traditional billing targets.
  • A transparent and equitable compensation model where partners retain 80-90% of client revenue.
  • A merit-based, collaborative work environment that rewards performance and success without unnecessary bureaucracy.
  • Opportunities for career growth and recognition within a forward-thinking, nationally respected firm.
