A law firm in Buffalo, NY, is seeking a Health Care Associate Attorney with a strong interest in health law issues and trends. The ideal candidate will have a background in corporate transactions, particularly involving provider health care organizations. Experience with Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, regulatory compliance, fraud and abuse laws, and/or HIPAA is preferred. The role requires exceptional writing, research, and analytical skills, along with the ability to take ownership of projects and collaborate effectively within a team. This position offers the opportunity to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Job Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel to health care clients on corporate transactions, mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures involving health care providers.
  • Advise on Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement matters, regulatory compliance, fraud and abuse laws, and HIPAA privacy and security issues.
  • Conduct legal research, draft memoranda, opinions, and other legal documents related to health care law issues.
  • Assist in due diligence investigations and document reviews for health care transactions.
  • Collaborate with partners, senior associates, and clients to develop strategies and solutions for complex legal issues in the health care sector.
  • Stay updated on developments in health care law and regulations affecting clients.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar.
  • 3+ years of experience in corporate law, particularly in mergers and acquisitions, health care law, and/or regulatory legal compliance.
  • Strong understanding of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, fraud and abuse laws, HIPAA, and other health care regulatory frameworks.
  • Exceptional academic credentials.
