A law firm located in San Diego is seeking an Employee Benefits Attorney with 5+ years of experience. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience counseling employers on various ERISA and non-ERISA plans, including retirement plans and health and welfare plans, and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.

 

Duties:

  • Counsel employers on a wide range of ERISA and non-ERISA plans and arrangements.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance on retirement plans, health and welfare plans, and other employee benefits matters.
  • Draft and review plan documents, summary plan descriptions, and other related documents.
  • Assist clients in compliance with ERISA regulations and other applicable laws.
  • Handle plan administration issues and disputes.
  • Stay updated on changes in employee benefits laws and regulations.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the State Bar.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing employee benefits law.
  • Strong knowledge of ERISA and non-ERISA plans and arrangements.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Active membership in the State Bar.

 

Skills:

  • Extensive experience counseling employers on employee benefits matters.
  • Strong understanding of ERISA regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to draft and review complex legal documents.
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Familiarity with health, dental, vision, and other employee benefit plans is preferred.
