Job Overview:
A well-established and respected law firm is seeking an experienced Medical Malpractice Attorney to join its litigation team. The ideal candidate will be ready to manage an existing caseload, leveraging their trial experience to handle complex medical malpractice cases. This position offers the opportunity to work on impactful cases while collaborating with a dedicated team of legal professionals.

Location:

  • Southfield, MI

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of medical malpractice cases from inception to trial.

  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including motions and pleadings.

  • Represent clients in court, depositions, hearings, and trials.

  • Work closely with clients, medical experts, and other professionals to prepare cases.

  • Conduct thorough depositions and expert witness examinations.

  • Ensure all case deadlines are met and maintain strong organization of case files.

  • Provide exceptional legal counsel and guidance to clients throughout the litigation process.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in medical malpractice litigation.

  • Proven trial experience with a track record of success.

  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare standards of care.

  • Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.

  • Experience with depositions and expert witness examinations.

  • Ability to manage complex litigation through trial.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, experts, and colleagues.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

  • Licensed to practice law in Michigan.

Certifications:

  • Admitted and in good standing with the Michigan State Bar.
