Cyber and Data Privacy Attorney

Job Overview:
A global law firm is seeking a motivated and dynamic attorney to join its national and international cyber and data privacy practice. The team acts for cyber insurers and major corporations, providing litigation defense and 24/7 breach response services. This position is based in New York, New York, with opportunities for global collaboration. The ideal candidate will have experience in cyber and data privacy, a strong litigation background, and an interest in crisis management and regulatory issues arising from data breaches and privacy-related matters.

Location:

Duties:

• Represent clients in cyber and data privacy litigation, including drafting reports, pleadings, discovery, and motions.
• Propose litigation strategies, communicate with clients and opposing counsel, and argue motions.
• Take and defend depositions, participate in mediations and trials.
• Assist with cyber incident response, crisis management, and regulatory matters.
• Advise clients on incident response and investigations involving data breaches and privacy-related issues.
• Work closely with the global cyber team covering 25 global jurisdictions.

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of relevant experience in cyber and data privacy law, with a strong litigation background.
• Strong courtroom experience, including motion work, discovery, and depositions.
• Experience advising on cyber incidents, regulatory issues, and data breaches is a plus.
• Must be admitted and in good standing with the New York State Bar.
• Additional state bar admissions are a plus.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Must be admitted and in good standing in New York.
• Additional certifications or licenses in other jurisdictions are a plus.

Skills:

• Ability to handle complex legal issues and provide clear, strategic advice.
• Knowledge of cyber and data privacy regulations and litigation strategies.
