Immigration Attorney (Legal Analysis)

A law firm seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Immigration Attorney with a focus on legal analysis to join its team in Dallas, TX. This role offers the opportunity to work remotely and centers on analyzing client immigration files received via Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. The ideal candidate will review client histories, determine potential relief options, and identify appropriate next steps for cases. This is a high-volume position, requiring proficiency in handling complex immigration matters and providing strategic recommendations. As an Immigration Attorney, you will work closely with senior attorneys and legal assistants to ensure thorough case analysis and forward progress.

Duties:

• Conduct in-depth legal analysis of immigration files received through FOIA requests to identify possible relief options and next steps.
• Perform detailed reviews of client documents and immigration histories to assess eligibility for benefits or other relief.
• Manage a high caseload efficiently, meeting deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
• Provide strategic recommendations for case progression, particularly for complex immigration matters.
• Work closely with senior attorneys and legal staff to ensure the accurate, timely review of case files.
• Keep current on immigration law developments, including relevant case law, regulations, and policies.
• Document legal findings and recommendations clearly for both internal team use and client communication.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience practicing immigration law.
• Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex legal documents and histories.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
• Proven ability to manage a high caseload and move legal cases forward.
• Active membership in the bar of any U.S. jurisdiction.
• Familiarity with various immigration law areas, including family-based petitions, asylum, removal defense, and related areas.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active Bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

Skills:

• Strong analytical and legal research abilities.
• Excellent legal writing and documentation skills.
• Organizational skills to manage a large number of cases and deadlines.
• Familiarity with immigration law and various case types (family-based, asylum, removal defense).
