Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is currently seeking a skilled Litigation Attorney to join their team in a hybrid role based in New York. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse legal matters while developing a strong foundation in litigation. A focus on General Liability and Professional Liability matters is preferred. The role involves representing clients through all stages of litigation, from initiation to settlement, with a strong emphasis on civil procedure expertise.

Duties:

• Represent clients across all stages of litigation, including trial preparation and expert discovery.
• Attend and represent clients at court hearings, depositions, and case management conferences.
• Conduct thorough legal research and manage discovery investigations.
• Draft discovery requests and responses, motions, court orders, settlement agreements, affidavits, pleadings, and legal memoranda.
• Review depositions, and discovery responses, and prepare litigation reports.
• Engage in negotiations with opposing counsel to facilitate case settlements.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, providing status updates, legal analysis, and counsel on case developments.

Requirements:

• Civil litigation experience.
• Active admission to the Connecticut State Bar.
• Expertise in drafting discovery, leading depositions, and arguing motions.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and work efficiently under pressure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with Lexis software.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Must be licensed to practice law in Connecticut.
