A law firm in New York City is seeking a highly skilled Senior Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will advise corporations, financial institutions, and individuals on civil litigation strategy at both trial and appellate levels in federal and state courts. This includes handling securities, contract, and M&A disputes, as well as advising on criminal and regulatory investigations and enforcement actions by various regulatory bodies. The candidate will have extensive experience in multi-jurisdictional trial strategy, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance with securities, banking, and antitrust laws.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on civil litigation strategy at trial and appellate levels in federal and state courts.
  • Handle securities, contract, and M&A disputes.
  • Advise clients on legal strategy in responding to criminal and regulatory investigations and enforcement actions by DOJ, SEC, CFTC, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Research and draft briefs, legal memoranda, dispositive motions, pre-trial orders, stipulations, affidavits, subpoenas, discovery requests, and objections to discovery requests.
  • Prepare for and conduct witness interviews and depositions.
  • Prepare witnesses for trial testimony and prepare for cross-examinations.
  • Manage pre-trial fact and expert discovery.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals within the firm to deliver comprehensive legal services to clients.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in litigation and regulatory compliance.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience practicing law.
  • Proven ability to advise on multi-jurisdictional trial strategy, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance with securities, banking, and antitrust laws.
  • Extensive experience in drafting briefs, legal memoranda, dispositive motions, pre-trial orders, stipulations, affidavits, subpoenas, discovery requests, and objections to discovery requests.
  • Strong experience in organizing pre- and post-trial strategy and processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to represent clients in criminal and regulatory investigations and enforcement actions by DOJ, SEC, and CFTC.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Admission to the New York Bar.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or Master of Laws (LLM) degree from an accredited law school, or foreign equivalent.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar in New York.

Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of civil litigation, securities, contract, and M&A disputes.
  • Proficiency in drafting and negotiating complex legal documents.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
