Job Title: Family Law Attorney

Job Overview: A prominent law firm in Costa Mesa, CA, is seeking an experienced Family Law Attorney to join their team. This position offers a great opportunity for a skilled legal professional with at least three years of experience in family law to manage a diverse caseload, work in a supportive team environment, and provide exceptional service to clients. Duties:

• Represent clients in various family law matters, including divorce, child custody, property division, paternity, support, domestic violence, and post-judgment modifications.
• Draft and file legal pleadings, including Requests for Orders (RFOs), Declarations, and Points and Authorities.
• Conduct discovery, including issuing and responding to written discovery requests and preparing motions related to discovery disputes.
• Manage caseload effectively, ensuring timely filings and compliance with California Family Code and court rules.
• Appear in court for hearings, including evidentiary hearings and RFO hearings.
• Provide legal research and analysis to support case strategies and client representation.
• Maintain strong client relationships, offering legal guidance and updates on case progress.

Requirements:

• Must be a licensed attorney in good standing with the California State Bar.
• At least 3 years of experience practicing family law.
• Demonstrated courtroom experience, including familiarity with evidentiary hearings and Request for Order hearings.
• Strong knowledge of the California Family Code, case law, and judicial council forms.
• Excellent legal writing skills and attention to detail in preparing pleadings, motions, and legal documents.
• Proficiency in discovery procedures, including written discovery and discovery motions.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage a diverse caseload and prioritize tasks effectively.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active California Bar License required.

Skills:

• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat.
• Effective oral communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases with efficiency and accuracy.
