A law firm in Baltimore is seeking a Senior Real Estate Attorney with a demonstrated understanding of real property law, real estate finance, and substantial experience handling complex responsibilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong written and oral communication skills, creative problem-solving abilities, and a knack for business development. Significant client interaction and the ability to generate business will be essential.

Duties:

  • Manage and oversee commercial real estate transactions from inception to closing.
  • Advise clients on real estate development projects, including land use and zoning issues.
  • Negotiate and draft commercial leases and other real estate agreements.
  • Handle mortgage lending transactions and financing arrangements.
  • Conduct due diligence reviews and title examinations.
  • Provide legal counsel on real estate investment and asset management.
  • Represent clients in real estate litigation matters, if necessary.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and representation.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in commercial real estate transactions, real estate development, leasing, land use and zoning, and mortgage lending.
  • Demonstrated understanding of real property law and real estate finance.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to handle significant responsibility and manage complex matters.
  • Aptitude for business generation and client development.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar of Maryland (required).

Skills:

  • Proficiency in drafting and negotiating real estate contracts and agreements.
  • Knowledge of real estate due diligence and title examination processes.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work product.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic legal environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
