Job Overview: A law firm seeks a motivated Patent Intellectual Property Associate Attorney to join their team in Denver, CO. The candidate will assist in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications, provide patentability opinions, manage patent estates, and handle licensing and enforcement matters for a diverse clientele. Duties:

  • Assist with the preparation and prosecution of patent applications
  • Provide patentability and clearance opinions
  • Manage patent estates
  • Handle licensing and enforcement of patents
  • Handle high-level and strategic aspects of legal matters from inception to conclusion
  • Produce quality legal work and bill required hours for excellent client service
  • Generate business through group and individual efforts
  • Actively make decisions on client matters with minimal supervision
  • Actively delegate tasks as needed
  • Embrace learning new skills and technology, sharing knowledge with others
  • Work as a diligent member of client teams and begin to lead teams in matters
  • Influence the awareness and adoption of the Firm's values, diversity, and inclusion

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor degree
  • Bachelor's or higher in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Patent preparation and prosecution experience in software, computer science, electrical, or mechanical areas preferred
  • Licensed to practice law in good standing in one or more jurisdictions where the Firm conducts business
  • Registered to practice before the USPTO
  • 1 year of experience as a licensed attorney at a law firm (2-8 years preferred)
