Job Overview:
A reputable workers’ compensation applicant law firm in Santa Ana, CA, is seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Applicant Attorney to join its team. This position offers the opportunity to manage a full caseload of 200-250 workers' compensation files, varying in complexity. The successful candidate will work in a hybrid remote format with cloud-based technology and manage a dedicated team. The ideal candidate should possess strong research, negotiation, and litigation skills, with prior WCAB Board experience. A commitment to providing high-quality legal services to injured workers is essential.

Location:

  • Santa Ana, CA

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of approximately 200-250 workers' compensation files of varying complexity.
  • Handle all aspects of workers’ compensation cases, including conducting Status Conferences, MSC’s, Expedited Hearings, Lien Conferences, and Trials.
  • Lead a team consisting of a dedicated Case Administrator and Legal Assistant.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB).
  • Provide exceptional legal services to injured workers and ensure timely case resolution.
  • Utilize cloud-based technology in a paperless office environment.
  • Participate in negotiations and settlement conferences.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in workers’ compensation law.
  • Active membership in the State Bar of California.
  • Strong attention to detail and self-motivation.
  • Previous WCAB Board experience (Status Conferences, MSC’s, Expedited Hearings, Lien Conferences, and Trials).
  • Ability to manage a high volume of cases and work independently.
  • Spanish-speaking skills are a plus, but not required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active California State Bar membership required.

Skills:

  • Strong research, writing, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and resolve complex legal matters.
  • Organized and able to manage a large caseload efficiently.
  • Familiarity with workers' compensation law and WCAB procedures.
