A law firm in Torrance is seeking a motivated Litigation Product Liability Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of experience in product liability/mass torts and/or commercial litigation, with a strong background in defending product liability lawsuits. This role requires exceptional litigation skills, including deposition-taking, motion drafting, and advocacy both in writing and orally.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and other legal documents related to product liability cases.
  • Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, arbitrations, and trials.
  • Analyze and summarize complex legal documents.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, experts, and opposing counsel.
  • Manage case files and maintain documentation.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on case strategy and trial preparation.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and legal trends in product liability.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of California.
  • 2-4 years of substantive experience in product liability/mass torts and/or commercial litigation.
  • Proven track record of handling all aspects of litigation.
  • Strong research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Excellent oral advocacy and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in defending product liability lawsuits.
  • Experience with dispositive and expert motions.
  • Familiarity with eDiscovery and document management tools.
  • Trial experience is a plus.
