Duties:

  • Represent secured and unsecured creditors in bankruptcy proceedings and out-of-court restructurings.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance on complex restructuring and insolvency matters.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and agreements.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on various issues related to restructuring and insolvency.
  • Negotiate and structure restructuring plans and settlements.
  • Collaborate with clients and colleagues to develop and implement legal strategies.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple cases and client matters simultaneously.
  • Participate in client meetings, hearings, and negotiations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends.
  • Mentor junior associates and assist with their professional development.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar.
  • Approximately 4 years of experience in finance and bankruptcy law.
  • Experience representing secured and unsecured creditors in bankruptcy proceedings and out-of-court restructurings.
  • Specific experience with franchisors and representing financial institutions is desirable.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong academic credentials and a commitment to high-quality client service.

Certifications:

  • New York State Bar License (required).
