Job Title: Employment and Labor Law Attorney

Job Overview:

A prominent law firm in Seattle, WA is seeking experienced employment and labor law attorneys with over 10 years of experience to join its Education and Employment department. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in managing a portfolio of clients, a passion for client service, and the ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment. This position offers a hybrid work model, with the potential for fully remote work for qualified candidates.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel to clients on employment and labor law matters, representing both public and private sector employers.
  • Manage active caseload, including handling litigation and advising on labor disputes, compliance, and policy implementation.
  • Assist clients in navigating complex employment regulations and laws.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure comprehensive legal strategies for clients.
  • Engage in client development and maintain a client base.
  • Attend hearings, depositions, and trials as necessary.
  • Stay updated on the latest changes in labor and employment law.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of relevant legal experience in employment and labor law.
  • Experience working with both public and private sector employers.
  • Proven ability to manage a book of business and meet immediate client needs.
  • Member of the Washington State Bar Association or eligible for reciprocity.
  • A California State Bar license is a plus but not required.
  • Traditional labor law experience preferred.
  • Some existing client base is required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Washington State Bar Association.
  • California State Bar license (preferred but not required).

Skills:

  • Strong client service and relationship management skills.
  • Exceptional communication, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple cases and deadlines.
  • Experience with traditional labor law (preferred).
