A law firm seeks a Mid-Level Transactional Tax Associate Attorney in San Francisco, CA.

Job Overview:

The Mid-Level Transactional Tax Associate Attorney will primarily handle transactional tax matters related to fund formation, Section 892 investors, real estate, income tax treaties, and cross-border transactions. They will collaborate with clients, partners, and other professionals to provide accurate and timely legal counsel.

Duties:

  • Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
  • Produce high-quality deliverables, answer phone calls, and respond to correspondence promptly.
  • Ensure all work products are accurate, timely, and meet firm standards.
  • Adhere to deadlines, manage expectations, and fulfill all work duties as required.
  • Cultivate positive relationships within the firm and with external parties.
  • Comply with firm policies and practices.
  • Engage in both physical and sedentary activities as required, including computer work, virtual meetings, and conferences.
  • Perform other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of transactional tax experience with expertise in fund formation, Section 892 investors, real estate, income tax treaties, and cross-border transactions.
  • Previous experience at an AmLaw 100 law firm or SEC experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills.
  • Attention to detail and good business judgment.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
  • Research and problem-solving abilities.
  • Conceptual thinking and ability to influence others.
  • Persuasive communication and management skills.

Education and Certifications:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active Bar admission in California.

  • Strong transactional tax knowledge.
  • Proficiency in legal research and analysis.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Advanced proficiency in legal writing and communication.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
