Job Overview:

The Junior Associate Attorney will work closely with the Founding Partner to manage immigration cases, represent clients during interviews and court appearances, and build lasting attorney-client relationships. The role requires a clear understanding of immigration laws and policies and strong communication skills to advocate for clients effectively.

Duties:

• Review cases prepared by paralegals to ensure accurate and complete filings
• Draft affidavits for various asylum, VAWA, and waiver cases
• Prepare Writs of Mandamus, complaints, and other immigration court motions
• Communicate with specialized agencies such as U.S. Embassies and the FBI to expedite case processing
• Assist in maintaining attorney-client relationships and building an individual caseload
• Represent clients during USCIS interviews and immigration court appearances

Requirements:

• Recently admitted to a State Bar
• Minimum of 1 year of legal experience at a firm
• Prior immigration experience or bilingual ability preferred
• Clear writing and oral communication skills in legal and professional contexts
• Ability to understand, interpret, and argue immigration laws and policies effectively
• Proficiency in independent legal research
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple cases
• Flexible schedule to attend USCIS interviews and immigration court hearings
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with support staff
• Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality
• Proficiency in French desired
