Job Overview:

A law firm located in Buffalo, NY is seeking a dedicated and experienced Personal Injury Trial Attorney to join a growing legal team. The role involves handling personal injury cases from intake to resolution, including representing clients in court and leading trial proceedings. The attorney will collaborate with other legal professionals and support staff both locally and remotely, contributing to the successful representation of clients in complex litigation matters.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in personal injury cases, from intake to jury verdict or settlement.
  • Communicate regularly with clients to provide case updates and advice.
  • Prepare for and conduct depositions, mediations, and court proceedings.
  • Develop legal strategies and case plans tailored to client needs.
  • Draft, file, and respond to legal motions and documents.
  • Lead negotiations and settlement discussions.
  • Present cases at trial as the first chair attorney.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in personal injury or civil litigation.
  • Demonstrated success in first-chair jury trials.
  • Licensed to practice law and in good standing with the New York State Bar.
  • Strong experience with drafting and responding to legal motions.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure and Rules of Evidence.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license with the New York State Bar.
