Duties:

  • Manage patent prosecution and counseling matters across various cutting-edge technology sectors
  • Collaborate with engineers and developers to understand complex technical details
  • Provide guidance and strategic advice to clients in the tech industry
  • Handle direct partner and client interaction in a client-facing role
  • Engage in additional legal work related to patent prosecution as required
  • Review and analyze patent applications, conduct legal research, and support patent portfolio management

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience in patent prosecution and counseling
  • Strong background in electrical engineering, computer engineering, applied physics, computer science, or a related technical field
  • Law degree from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Membership to the U.S. bar
  • Registration to practice before the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO)
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients and senior partners

Education:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, Computer Science, or equivalent technical experience
  • Law degree from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • U.S. bar membership
  • Registration to practice before the USPTO

Skills:

  • Proficiency in patent prosecution and counseling
  • Strong technical understanding and ability to discuss complex technology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage client relationships and provide strategic advice
  • Ability to handle complex legal matters with minimal supervision
