A law firm in San Bernardino, CA, is seeking an Associate Attorney with 5+ years of litigation experience to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation and case management, excellent research and writing skills, and a passion for high-quality legal representation. Experience with municipal and public entity law is a plus. The Associate Attorney will manage legal projects, provide substantive and procedural advice, and coordinate with senior attorneys and firm partners.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development, preparation, and presentation of research projects, investigations, proceedings, trials, or other legal projects as assigned.
  • Ensure timely processing and handling of matters assigned by more senior attorneys.
  • Provide substantive and procedural advice within the assigned area and respond to information requests from constituencies.
  • Independently research, interpret, and apply complex legal principles within the assigned work area.
  • Assist in the selection, evaluation, training, and direction of subordinate staff.
  • Maintain accurate case, file, and related records to ensure effective project completion.
  • Stay informed on applicable laws, rules, procedures, policies, and practices relevant to assigned functions.
  • Coordinate issues and activities with firm partners and senior attorneys as directed.
  • Utilize knowledge of effective case management, investigation, and trial presentation for administrative bodies.
  • Apply principles of legal research, trial management, and conflict resolution in various legal matters.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel, including making oral presentations and drafting legal documents.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of litigation experience.
  • Active member in good standing of the State Bar of California.
  • Strong background in litigation with substantial case management experience.
  • Knowledge of California state law, rules, decisions, practices, and procedures.
  • Substantive knowledge of federal and California statutory law, including constitutional provisions.
  • Proficiency in case/project management, investigation, and trial presentation.
  • Advanced analytical, legal research, and writing skills.
  • Principles of effective time management, oral advocacy, and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Experience with municipal and public entity law is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in California.
