A law firm in Nashville, TN, is seeking a skilled Financial Services Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will have a strong academic record, relevant law firm or clerkship experience, and exceptional problem-solving, writing, and communication abilities. This role focuses on handling complex financial services litigation, including cases involving commercial real estate, distressed loans, and creditor and lender liability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in litigation related to financial services, including commercial real estate, distressed loans, debt and security instruments, and creditor and lender liability.
  • Prepare, draft, and file various legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis to support case strategies and decision-making.
  • Take and defend depositions, prepare witnesses, and manage all aspects of discovery.
  • Participate in courtroom proceedings, including hearings, trials, and arbitrations.
  • Negotiate settlements and participate in alternative dispute resolution (ADR) processes.
  • Collaborate with clients, legal teams, and experts to develop case strategies and provide legal advice.
  • Maintain accurate and organized case files, ensuring adherence to deadlines and procedural requirements.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Tennessee State Bar.
  • Minimum of 3 years of litigation or clerkship experience with a focus on financial services, commercial real estate, and distressed loans.
  • Demonstrated experience in taking and defending depositions and active courtroom participation.
  • Proven academic excellence and strong problem-solving skills.
