Job Title: Pre-Litigation Attorney

Job Location: Los Angeles, CA

Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a dedicated and proactive Pre-Litigation Attorney to manage a docket of pre-litigation cases to resolution. The successful candidate will report directly to an assigned Partner and receive substantive and administrative support from a team of paralegals. The role requires excellent communication skills, organizational abilities, and a positive attitude to lead and guide non-attorney staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a docket of pre-litigation cases to resolution.
  • Provide guidance and support to non-attorneys as needed.
  • Lead non-attorney staff by example, fostering a positive workplace environment.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents, correspondence, and reports.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis.
  • Negotiate settlements and communicate effectively with clients and opposing counsel.
  • Maintain detailed and organized case files.
  • Attend and participate in meetings with clients and partners.

Requirements:

  • Must be in good standing with the California State Bar.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases and priorities effectively.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Proficiency in legal research and the use of legal databases.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Professional demeanor and strong ethical standards.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active and in good standing with the California State Bar.

Skills:

  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to provide clear guidance and leadership to non-attorneys.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in the use of legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
