Job Overview:
A leading law firm is seeking an Energy Associate with 0-5 years of experience to join its energy mineral title practice. This position offers the flexibility to work from any of the firm’s office locations or remotely. The ideal candidate will have experience or interest in property and/or mineral title law within the energy sector. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both clients and internal legal teams are essential. This position requires a solid academic background, exceptional writing skills, and the ability to work independently.

Location:

  • Charleston, WV

Duties:

  • Provide legal research and analysis on energy and mineral title issues.
  • Draft legal documents, including title opinions, contracts, and other related materials.
  • Offer legal advice to clients on property and mineral title matters within the energy sector.
  • Assist with the negotiation and resolution of legal issues related to energy law.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the development of legal strategies and case management.
  • Maintain client communication to ensure timely and effective delivery of legal services.

Requirements:

  • 0-5 years of experience in energy law, mineral title law, or property law.
  • Strong academic record with demonstrated legal research and writing capabilities.
  • Ability to handle caseload independently while meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients and colleagues.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

Skills:

  • Exceptional research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong contract drafting and document review expertise.
  • Attention to detail with superior organizational skills.
  • Effective communication abilities, both written and oral.
  • Ability to work independently and in team settings.
