Job Overview:
A well-established, multi-state real estate and creditor’s rights law firm is seeking a motivated Bankruptcy Attorney to join its national bankruptcy practice. This position offers the unique opportunity to grow with the support and resources of a nationally recognized law firm. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in creditor representation within bankruptcy court and be able to manage a substantial caseload while leading a team. This role provides a supportive work environment with opportunities for professional development.

Location:

  • Nashville, TN

Duties:

  • Represent creditors in federal bankruptcy court, handling tasks such as drafting motions for relief from the automatic stay, preparing and defending secured creditor proofs of claims, and defending motions to value.
  • Draft pleadings to protect the interests of creditors during the bankruptcy process.
  • Manage a substantial caseload, providing guidance and direction to support staff.
  • Proactively develop relationships with clients and colleagues to be viewed as a trusted partner and advisor.
  • Ensure timely and accurate updating of the firm’s systems of record to archive important dates, communications, milestones, and results.
  • Provide leadership and oversight, ensuring the efficient integration of client systems.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, support staff, and other firm members to meet client needs effectively.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in civil litigation, real estate, or equivalent experience representing servicers and financial institutions.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and manage a team.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a detail-oriented, highly productive manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships within the industry.
  • Experience with bankruptcy law, including drafting motions, proofs of claims, and pleadings.
  • Preferred experience with TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and appellate practice (not required).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Education & Certifications:

  • Bar License in Tennessee (Required)
  • Multiple state bar licenses a plus.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of bankruptcy law and creditor representation.
  • Ability to manage a high caseload and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Expertise in legal writing, including drafting motions and pleadings.
  • Proficiency in managing legal documents and case management systems.
