Job Overview

A law firm is seeking an experienced Alcohol and Distribution Associate Attorney to join its team in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in alcohol beverage law, with a preference for those who also possess a background in commercial corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, or other related regulatory experience such as FDA/food. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage and prioritize a diverse workload.

Key Duties

  • Provide legal counsel on matters related to alcohol beverage regulation and distribution.
  • Advise clients on compliance with federal, state, and local alcohol laws.
  • Assist in corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts related to the alcohol industry.
  • Conduct regulatory research and analysis to support client needs.
  • Represent clients before regulatory agencies.
  • Manage and lead complex legal projects to completion.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff to deliver comprehensive legal services.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in alcohol beverage law.
  • Experience with related regulatory areas such as FDA/food law is a plus.
  • Proven experience in commercial corporate law and mergers and acquisitions.
  • Admission to practice law in Washington, DC.
  • Ability to independently manage legal matters and large, complex projects.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active member of the Washington, DC Bar.
