A law firm seeks a skilled and motivated Senior Immigration Attorney to join its growing team in Fort Worth, Texas. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced immigration attorney to manage complex cases and represent clients in various immigration matters. The ideal candidate will bring 4+ years of immigration law experience, a client-focused approach, and the ability to collaborate with a team of attorneys and legal assistants. Duties:

  • Provide expert guidance and legal strategies to clients in various immigration matters, including removal defense, family-based petitions, and USCIS applications.
  • Represent detained and non-detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA).
  • Manage and prioritize a caseload, ensuring timely and effective handling of all cases.
  • Conduct intakes and site visits to detention centers, assessing the legal status and options for detained clients.
  • Prepare a variety of immigration-related applications, including defense against removal, family-based petitions, and humanitarian relief requests.
  • Review and revise immigration applications to ensure compliance with all regulations and laws.
  • Engage with law enforcement, prosecutors, and community-based organizations to stay informed on developments in immigration law.
  • Meet with potential clients to conduct strategic consultations and determine the best course of action for their cases.
  • Develop strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for hearings, court appearances, and USCIS interviews.
  • Provide legal analysis to identify potential benefits and outcomes for clients’ cases.
  • Draft and file legal briefs, motions, and petitions for a range of immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of immigration law experience.
  • Proven ability to manage a high-volume caseload and advance cases efficiently.
  • Preferably bilingual in English and Spanish (not required).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-centered approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to represent clients effectively in immigration court and before USCIS.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, EOIR (Executive Office for Immigration Review), detained cases, humanitarian relief, citizenship, and other immigration-related applications.
  • Experience with case management software is preferred.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the State Bar of Texas (or eligible to practice in Texas).

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of immigration law and its various applications, including family-based petitions, removal defense, and humanitarian relief.
  • Strong legal writing and analytical skills, with experience drafting legal briefs, motions, and petitions.
  • Excellent client management skills, with the ability to guide clients through complex legal processes.
  • Highly organized and able to manage a diverse caseload.
  • Familiarity with legal research tools and case management software.
