Mid-Level RE Finance Associate

Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Associate for its Real Estate Department’s Finance Group in New York. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience representing lenders on a variety of commercial real estate financing transactions, including mortgage and mezzanine loans, preferred equity, repo facilities, and subscription lines. Location:

Duties:

• Represent lenders in mortgage and mezzanine commercial real estate loan transactions.

• Draft and negotiate loan agreements, including those related to preferred equity, repo facilities, and subscription lines.

• Work closely with clients and provide legal advice on complex finance structures.

• Manage significant portions of transactions, taking on substantial responsibility and client-facing roles.

• Collaborate with colleagues on real estate finance matters, ensuring smooth execution of deals.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience in real estate finance, specifically with mortgage and mezzanine loans, preferred equity, repo facilities, and subscription lines.

• Strong experience drafting and negotiating loan agreements.

• Ability to work in leanly staffed teams with early responsibility and client interaction.

• Excellent academic credentials and law firm experience.

• Admitted to the New York Bar.

Education:

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the bar in New York (or eligibility to waive in).

Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of commercial real estate finance transactions, including mortgage and mezzanine loans.

• Strong drafting and negotiation skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage complex transactions with minimal supervision.
