Senior Immigration Attorney

Job Overview:

A law firm in Fresno, CA, seeks an experienced and dedicated Senior Immigration Attorney to join their team. This role involves representing clients in various immigration matters, including removal proceedings and family-based petitions, while providing strategic legal solutions and maintaining a high standard of client service.

Job Details:

• Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions to clients.
• Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
• Manage a diverse caseload, ensuring timely and effective handling of each case.
• Visit and conduct intake interviews with detained individuals at detention centers.
• Prepare and file immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions.
• Review and adjust immigration applications/packets as needed.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on changes in immigration law.
• Conduct strategic consultations with potential clients to determine necessary legal strategies.
• Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS testimony.
• Provide legal analysis to identify potential benefits and strategic approaches for cases.
• Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases.

Requirements:

• 5-8 years of experience in Immigration Law.
• Proven ability to manage a caseload effectively and move legal cases forward.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a record of collaborative teamwork.
• Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian, EOIR (Executive Office for Immigration Review), Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
• Experience with Case Management Software preferred.

Education and Certifications:

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the State Bar (California) in good standing.
