Litigation Attorney

A law firm in New York City is seeking a skilled and experienced Litigation Attorney to join their Financial Services Litigation Group. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on consumer financial services and products cases from inception to resolution. This role involves significant client interaction, independent work, and offers a chance to develop in-depth subject matter expertise and litigation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent clients involved in consumer financial services and products cases.
• Draft and file pleadings, conduct discovery, and prepare for trial.
• Manage case files independently and collaborate with team members as needed.
• Provide strategic legal counsel and develop litigation strategies.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
• Engage with clients, opposing counsel, and the court in a professional manner.
• Participate in settlement negotiations and court appearances.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of commercial litigation experience, preferably with a focus on consumer finance.
• Bar Admission: Admission to the New York State Bar is required; admission to the Connecticut Bar is a plus.
• Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Skills:
  • Strong litigation skills, including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and trial preparation.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in legal research and analysis.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
