Entry Level Immigration Attorney

A reputable law firm is seeking an Entry-Level Immigration Attorney to join its team in Fresno, CA. Location:

Duties:

• Explain immigration law concepts and develop strategic solutions for clients
• Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals
• Manage caseload and ensure timely progression of cases
• Visit and conduct intake interviews with detained individuals at detention centers
• Prepare and file diverse immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions
• Review immigration applications and make necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy
• Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations regarding changes in immigration law
• Meet with potential clients for consultations and determine appropriate legal strategies
• Develop legal strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS testimony
• Provide legal analysis and recommendations for clients to assess case benefits
• Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases

Requirements:

• Demonstrated interest in immigration law through law school clinics, volunteer work, or internships
• Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Active bar admission (law graduates awaiting bar admission will also be considered)
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, open to strategizing with fellow associates
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach
• Ability to manage a caseload and move legal cases forward
• Familiarity with case management software preferred

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active bar admission (law graduates awaiting admission will be considered)
