A law firm seeks a talented associate attorney with 2-5 years of experience in privacy law, specifically focusing on transactional matters related to GDPR, CCPA, and CPRA. The successful applicant will possess exceptional drafting and negotiation skills, particularly in the areas of data privacy and security.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on privacy and data security matters, including compliance with GDPR, CCPA, CPRA, and related regulations.
  • Draft and negotiate privacy and data security clauses in contracts and agreements.
  • Manage multiple legal projects and prioritize effectively in a high-pressure environment.
  • Conduct legal research and provide clear, practical advice on privacy and data compliance issues.
  • Assist clients with risk assessments, data breach response strategies, and internal privacy policies.
  • Stay current on evolving data privacy laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of experience in data privacy, compliance, and transactional law.
  • Proven ability to draft and negotiate privacy-related provisions in contracts.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to explain complex legal concepts in clear, understandable terms.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Strong academic record.

Certifications:

  • Active state bar membership in good standing.
  • CIPP certification (preferred but not required).

Skills:

  • Expertise in GDPR, CCPA, CPRA, and other privacy regulations.
  • Exceptional contract drafting and negotiation abilities.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of professionalism and client service orientation.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively.
