Mid-level Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm is seeking a Mid-level Litigation Associate Attorney to join its dynamic legal team in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation, particularly in product liability and complex commercial litigation, and possess the skills necessary to manage cases, work with clients, and lead associate attorneys. Key Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
• Supervise and mentor associate attorneys.
• Collaborate with experts and assist with fact development and depositions.
• Review and draft discovery responses, briefs, motions, and memoranda.
• Develop and implement case strategies.
• Produce high-quality deliverables, answer phone calls, and reply to correspondence in a timely and efficient manner.
• Ensure all work products are accurate and of high quality.
• Meet deadlines and fulfill all job expectations and responsibilities.
• Foster and maintain positive working relationships within the firm.
• Adhere to all firm policies and practices.
• Engage in physical and sedentary activities, such as extended periods of computer work, digital/virtual conference calls, and meetings.
• Perform all other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience, preferably gained at an AmLaw 100 firm.
• Experience in product liability and complex commercial litigation.
• Familiarity with the pharmaceutical and medical device industry and clients.
• Strong analytical and writing skills with attention to detail.
• Good business judgment and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in research and problem-solving.
• Conceptual thinking and the ability to influence others.
• Persuasive communication and management skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
• Strong project management skills.

Education and Certifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
• Strong academic credentials from nationally recognized schools.
• Additional degrees such as MD, MPH, PharmD, or in Epidemiology are highly desirable.
• Admitted to practice law in Illinois.
