Job Overview:
A law firm located in Cary, NC, is seeking an experienced Family Law Attorney to join its growing team. Duties:

  • Represent clients in family law matters, including divorce, equitable distribution, child custody, child support, and spousal support

  • Provide understanding, compassion, and honesty while addressing client concerns

  • Foster positive client relationships by delivering excellent customer service

  • Develop case strategies, provide direction, and oversee paralegals and legal assistants

  • Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery, orders, and separation agreements

  • Negotiate settlements and represent clients in mediation and settlement conferences

  • Prepare and present cases in court

  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court

  • Stay informed on updates to family law legislation

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

  • Must be a licensed attorney in good standing with the State of North Carolina

  • At least 5-7 years of experience in family law

  • Prior experience managing a full caseload

  • Demonstrated success in representing clients in family law matters

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Detail-oriented, flexible, and empathetic towards clients

  • Excellent client communication and negotiation skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of North Carolina

Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in family law, including divorce, custody, and support matters

  • Strong legal research, writing, and drafting skills

  • Ability to manage complex cases and deliver high-quality results

  • Excellent interpersonal and client management skills
