A law firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Trust and Estates Attorney to join their team in Fort Lauderdale. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in complex estate planning, asset protection planning, and trusts and estates administration. This role requires a professional who can handle intricate legal matters with precision and provide exceptional service to clients.

 

Duties:

  • Draft and implement complex estate plans, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney.
  • Advise clients on asset protection strategies and develop comprehensive plans to safeguard their assets.
  • Administer estates, including probate proceedings and trust administration.
  • Represent clients in trust and estate litigation, ensuring their interests are protected.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in estate planning laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals within the firm to deliver optimal client outcomes.
  • Maintain client relationships and provide ongoing legal counsel regarding estate and trust matters.
  • Participate in firm marketing and business development efforts to attract and retain clients.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • LLM in Taxation or Estate Planning.
  • Active membership in the Florida Bar.
  • 5-15 years of experience in estate planning, asset protection planning, and trusts and estates administration.
  • Proven track record of handling complex estate planning and administration cases.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state tax laws related to estate planning.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • High ethical standards and professional integrity.

 

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
  • LLM in Taxation or Estate Planning.

 

Certifications:

Active membership in the Florida Bar.

 

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of estate planning and asset protection laws.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Proficiency in legal software and technology.
  • Strong client service orientation and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
