Senior Criminal Defense Attorney

Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking a Senior Criminal Defense Attorney to join its dedicated legal team. This role presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced attorney to take on a leadership position, manage complex criminal defense cases, and collaborate with a team of skilled professionals. The Senior Criminal Defense Attorney will report directly to the Managing Criminal Defense Attorney and will have the chance to work on high-profile cases at the state, federal, and local levels.

Duties:

• Advise clients on their legal rights and obligations, and prepare legal documents related to their cases.
• Attend pretrial hearings and court proceedings on behalf of clients.
• Develop and implement case strategies, advising clients on the best courses of action following each hearing or court appearance.
• Manage court appearances, trials, drafting motions, interviewing witnesses, and conducting legal research.
• Analyze case outcomes using knowledge of legal precedents and applicable law.
• Provide legal analysis to clients and assist in identifying potential case benefits.
• Gather evidence to support clients' positions and challenge the prosecution's case.
• Prepare clients for depositions and work with expert witnesses to support case strategies.
• Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and legal staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in handling criminal defense cases at the federal, state, and local levels.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on exceptional client service.
• Ability to manage a demanding caseload and lead legal strategy for complex cases.
• A team-oriented mindset, with the ability to collaborate and support other associates.
• Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail.

Education:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the California State Bar.
